Fisherman's Glove Sponsored Team Takes 6th in the Texas Redfish Series State Championship

The DCP sponsored team of Sean Halloran and Javier Balderas finished their season strong with a 6th place finish at the Texas Redfish Series State Championship.

The top redfish teams in Texas met at the Kemah Boardwalk this weekend for a chance at the title of Texas Redfish Series State Champions. Saturday morning the teams were met with a hard north wind and rough conditions. Despite the unfavorable conditions, the teams managed the highest percentage of fish brought to a weigh-in, as all but ten teams caught fish. Local favorites seemed to have a rough time, while many teams who were new to the area surprised everyone with heavier weights. One of those teams was the father/daughter team, Jay and Mary Hakala of team Blue Wave, who led by over a pound after day one with a total two-fish weight of 15.56 pounds. One local team who managed to beat the hometown curse was Sean Halloran and Javier Balderas who captured second place on day one with 14.44 pounds. Rounding out the top three were Shane Anniboli and Bobby Gilbert with 14.05 pounds.
